Here’s Probably The Best Medley Of Limp Bizkit, Metallica, And Neil Young Songs You’ll Ever Hear

Mac DeMarco’s live shows, like his songs, are sloppy, slackery, and utterly charming. Death and Taxes reports that during a recent concert, the Canada-born DeMarco “had his girlfriend wrap her legs around his waist and crowd-surfed with the two of them embracing [and] made out with said girlfriend for maybe a minute on the ground (after said crowd-surf) before hopping back onstage and resuming [a song].” He’s Jonathan Richman meets The Blue Album, not Pinkerton, a point he made abundantly clear when he covered “Undone – The Sweater Song.”

Covers are actually a major part of the Captured Tracks signee’s raucous sets, including a medley of the Police’s “Message in a Bottle,” Neil Young’s “Unknown Legend,” Limp Bizkit’s “Break Stuff,” Bachman-Turner Overdrive’s “Takin’ Care of Business,” and Metallica’s “Enter Sandman.” Does he change “You get up every morning/From your alarm clock’s warning” to “Wake up in the morning/Suck my cat’s dick”? Yep, just as BTO intended.
