When Modern Family premiered in 2009, the Dunphy kids, Sarah Hyland, Ariel Winter, and Nolan Gould, were 18, 11, and 10 years old, respectively. I don’t know about the ladies, but speaking as a former hideously awkward pre-teen male, let me tell you, it can’t have been easy for Gould to spend time with his on-screen sisters. That might explain why, in nearly every Getty Image photo featuring the three of them, or Gould with just Hyland (who just turned 24) or just Winter, he’s going full hover hands (no touching: from one Emmy-winning sitcom to another).
