Is Yahoo going full Netflix? Should I set aside a six-hour block for the 13-episode season?
Thankfully, no. One episode, every Tuesday, following a two-episode premiere on the 17th.
Okay, but will the episodes be extra-long, like Arrested Development?
Again, thankfully, no. Koogler himself, Mitch Hurwitz, had to work around the cast’s busy schedules, and his way of dealing with that was to give each main character their own episode (if not episodes), which were stretched to 40-plus minutes. It was clever, if strained, and it felt like an entirely different series at times. Dan Harmon has said that he wrote the new season with classic act breaks, “Because as a writer, three-act stories worked for me,” but executive producer Chris McKenna added, “They might not have to run the credits over the tags now.”
But it’s on Yahoo! Anything goes! Annie’s lowercase-boobs! Jeff’s butt!
Although Dan Harmon joked, “I vow to dominate our new competition. Rest easy, Big Bang Theory. Look out, Bang Bus,” the chances of seeing the Dean naked are about as slim as his chances with Jeff. Same with swearing. All Harmon will say is, “There’s a tiny bit more Britishness to the humor,” although ironically, John Oliver won’t be around.
Who’s even left in the cast at this point?
Out are Donald Glover, Chevy Chase, and Yvette Nicole Brown, in come Keith David and Paget Brewster. He plays washed up inventor Elroy Patashnik, and she’s Francesca “Frankie” Dart, a consultant hired to help spruce up Greendale. Guest stars include Steve Guttenberg as a movie producer and Billy Zane, “a mysterious, nameless man scouting Britta for a unique talent.”

Also expect to see Martin Mull, Lesley Ann Warren, and Cougar Town‘s Brian Van Holt.
You mentioned Chevy Chase. Is he returning? And what about Donald Glover?
Well, the thing about that is: I have no idea. Alison Brie told TV Insider, “Fingers crossed for that Childish Gambino cameo,” so she’s either being coy or genuinely isn’t sure (they’re still filming). As for Chase, he claimed in a Reddit AMA that he’ll “be in a small cameo at the beginning of Community and if they ask me to come back and do one or two appearances, it’s a possibility,” while IT Crowd star Matt Berry, who apparently will appear on the show in an unspecific role, Twitter teased, “Getting into the Community spirit. It’s all about the thrill of the Chase” and “My Community service is nearly up and I’ve enjoyed it all. Hours from being Chased out of town.”
Does Greendale’s Professor Cligoris, Martin Starr, have an odd Chevy Chase anecdote?
He does!
When I first got there, I knew most of the people there. I think I ended up on the show because of Alison Brie, because we had just worked together on Save the Date. I guess that part came up and she threw my name in, so they reached out to me. So I felt comfortable, and I knew pretty much everybody but Chevy.
So we were going through the first rehearsal, which was with everyone, and the first scene we did was this massive scene. And he and I are sitting, like, 30 feet away or something, and I think he could tell that I seemed comfortable there and I knew everybody—I mean, I felt in my element—and I think somehow that was off-putting to him. It was like he felt like he needed to show his dominance. That’s what it seemed like to me, that it was an ego thing. So he kind of stopped rehearsal to introduce himself to me—but from 30 feet away!—and then he kind of small-talked for a second. It was like he wanted to have the floor, introduce himself to me, have me introduce myself to him in a way he could understand, ask me a few questions, and then we were allowed to continue rehearsal. It was a very odd situation. There were looks going around. It was a funny moment to have been the center of. It made for an interesting experience. (Via)
