A piece of advice: never choose a song you like as your alarm. In college, I woke up every morning to the Gob Bluth-approved “The Final Countdown.” Whenever I hear the Europe hit now, it makes me agitated and sleepy and oh god, did I sleep through Mad Men 101 again?
Anyway, I can almost guarantee that everyone who’s stayed at the Panama City Beach Holiday Inn during spring break since 2012 now hates “Circle of Life” from The Lion King, which the motel promptly blasts every morning at 11 a.m. Coincidentally, when the hundreds of college kids leave, the mess they leave behind looks like something a monkey would smear on a wall.
