Sean Hannity: Ryan Adams Is A ‘Gutless Little Coward’ For Going On A ‘Liberal Twitter Tirade’

In the most heated singer-songwriter vs. Fox News personality battle since James Taylor left a flaming bag of dog doo on Neil Cavuto’s front porch, last night’s episode of Hannity was partially dedicated to host Sean Hannity calling out Ryan Adams for being a “gutless little coward” who plays music that “isn’t that popular anyway.”

It all began when Adams tweeted, “.@SeanHannity Your entire soul is controlled by fear and by hate. Evolve little chicken man. See reality.” Hannity’s on-air response:

“He is the latest liberal entertainer to launch an outrageous Twitter tirade against yours truly. Singer-songwriter — by the way, you probably don’t know him, he’s not that popular — Ryan Adams…We reached out to Mr. Adams, we invited him on the show for a comment. His little agent replied, because he was too chicken, in an email, ‘Ryan’s statement is is tweet and vice versa’…Why don’t you have the courage to come on the show and defend yourself? He called me a ‘terrorist’…If we wanted to torture terrorists, we can play his music, which isn’t that popular anyway…Come on the program, stop being a wimp, he’s hiding behind his rock star makeup like the gutless little coward that he is.” (Via)

Neither man comes across particularly well here. Adams should have stood behind his tweet and appeared on the show (then again, I would’t want to spend a second away from Mandy Moore, either), and Hannity shouldn’t have had Miss Oklahoma Anna-Marie Costello as his guest, who helpfully added, “He’s nearly a 40 year old man, 40 is the new 15…He has no sense of integrity.” Maybe not, but he will release seven albums about this incident in the next month.
