The year was 1990. Sinéad O’Connor was one of the biggest artists in the world, “U Can’t Touch This” taught an entire generation the importance of parachute pants, and in Seattle, Washington, a bunch of young, flannel-wearing, hair-flowing upstarts named Mookie Blaylock entered a recording studio for the first time.

By the time the songs laid down at Galleria Potato Head, including “Even Flow” and “Alive,” were officially released to the public, Mookie Blaylock would go by a different name: Pearl Jam. And the rest, as they say, is HIIIIISSSSSSSTTTOOOOORRRRRJJJJEEEEERRRRREEEMMMMMMYYYYYY.
