Long before The Shining, Stanley Kubrick was fascinated by something much more horrifying than twin ghost girls: WELL-DRESSED WHITE PEOPLE ON THE NEW YORK CITY SUBWAY. Heebies, meet jeebies. Gothamist nostalgically directed us toward the Museum of the City of New York‘s “Life and Love on the New York City Subway” exhibit, which includes a number of photos taken by the famed director while he was a photographer for Look Magazine in the 1940s. Look hard enough and you’ll see a crack in a certain hobo’s rum bottle, a crack that reveals Lolita is really about aliens assassinating JFK. OPEN YOUR EYES.
